ACU Elects New Officers

During the June 27th Board of Directors meeting, the ACU Board elected its officers for the next year. The Board reelected Kathy Brieger as President and Virna Little as Vice-President, while also adding two new officers – Mary Kasal and Kirsten Thomsen. Kasal was elected as Treasurer, replacing Dr. Ellis Frazier, while Thomsen was elected to the Secretary position, replacing Earle Rugg. ACU Receives Federal Funding Award

Washington, D.C. (July 1, 2014) – The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) has been awarded a 3-year National Cooperative Agreement from the HHS’ Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) to assist Federally-Qualified Health Centers with their clinical workforce needs.  The award was made late last month and is slated to begin today, July 1. ACU Partners with Community Health Vote!

The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) has joined a partnership with Community Health Vote to promote and assist safety net providers and community organizations in developing non-partisan voter engagement programs. HRSA Reorganizes Health Workforce Bureaus

Washington, D.C. (June 3, 2014)—Today, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) formally announced the creation of the Bureau of Health Workforce. This new Bureau, led by Rebecca Spitzgo, will combine programs previously run by the Bureau of Health Professions (BHPr) and the Bureau of Clinician Recruitment and Service (BCRS).
