Corps Community Day

NHSC_CorpsCommDay

ACU is delighted to announce that this year, we are official partners of ‘Corps Community Day’. Held on October 10th, during the American Medical Student Association’s (AMSA) National Primary Care Week (October 7-11, 2013), Corps Community Day is a celebration of the important work the Corps undertakes every day, to increase access to primary care where it is needed most. It recognizes and thanks the primary care workers who have served those who do not have access to regular or adequate health care. As clinicians working for the underserved, ACU is proud to have the chance to promote and recognize a community so often overlooked.

On October 10, 2013, join us in celebrating current and former members of the National Health Service Corps on Corps Community Day.

The National Health Service Corp helps place nearly 10,000 clinicians across the country, serving nearly 14,000 communities. Members of the Corps serve in medically underserved areas, bringing vital health services to patients and communities where access is lacking. Despite delivering care to more than 10 million people, the Corps remains one of the best kept secrets in health care.  Corps Community Day is meant to correct this inequity!

How to Get Involved

October 7-11 is designated as National Primary Care Week, and many primary care practices are already holding events throughout the week.  ACU is working with several partners to sponsor events that specifically recognize NHSC clinicians, but we need to know about your event as soon as it is planned.  Post your event on the NSHC website, and let us know what kind of event you plan to hold.  We are working to produce banners and other products that you can use to highlight your event.
