The Coalition for Health Funding Elects Craig Kennedy
 as President-Elect for 2017-2018

McLean, VA – Craig Kennedy, Executive Director for the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved, has been elected President-elect of the Coalition for Health Funding (CHF). CHF is the oldest and largest non-profit alliance working to preserve and strengthen public health investments in the best interest of all Americans. Its member organizations represent more than 90 million patients, health care providers, public health professionals, and scientists.

Since 2013, Craig has served on CHF Board of Directors, and most recently chaired two committees that ensured the financial future of the Coalition. Kennedy’s appointment comes at a crucial time as 2017 will prove to be a very important year for many key federal programs that will face a complex and challenging funding landscape.

Commenting on his appointment, Craig said, “I am honored to be able to continue my service to the Coalition and am very appreciative of the vote by the Coalition’s members. For the past 17 years I have been actively engaged and strongly supportive of the Coalition’s activities, and I look forward to expanding that service going forward.” Craig will serve a two-year term as President-elect, then become the President of the Board in 2019.

The Coalition was founded to promote the wide variety of discretionary health programs, which serve as the backbone of the health care delivery system. Discretionary health programs focus on helping the most vulnerable people in our country, and CHF has played a large role in fighting for this categorical funding.
